MFP just sitting there in idle.. flashes "paper jam" and "drum unit not installed correctly". No paper jam and replaced drum unit to be on safe side. Any ideas on where to go? Have manuals on the machine, but not a lot of OJT. Thanks in advance. Emujo

Only thing I can think of, is the cartridge has a finger that is supposed to mate up with something in the copier. Pull the drum out and look at the cartridge. The drum is on the left side, and the finger is on the right side of the cartridge. I had a customer where one of the guys took it upon himself to pull the cartridge out of the copier, and when he placed it back into the copier , it did not work, because he had managed to bend that finger out of place. Drum needs to go straight into copier, not at any angle..."Once a King, always a King, but once a Knight is enough!"

Hmmm... I have never come across this message and wasn't aware that machine would produce this on display. However, I do know that you can put that Drum in wrong/cocked due to only a rail on one side. I believe you can even shut the door with it uneven placed. Not sure of how that machine detects Drum though. Also, machine should not make you pull Drum to remove paper jam so you may have a more major failure which is causing both messages. But keep it simple first and make sure Drum is in tact and fully seated and evenly seated in machine. Good luck, post results. The glass maybe half full, but less is more...

Don't know why, but after replacing the developer unit, all messages cleared and MFP is working correctly. Thanks for the tips. EMujoIf you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.Comment

If you ever learn one thing about machines its to never question why something might have worked. Even if you tried it three time before or defies all logic, it could be Gremlins. Glad to hear it worked. The glass maybe half full, but less is more...
