The problem with using cloning software is that you have to find an exact match copier wise to get your "donor" image. You have to inconvenience another customer to get the image for your problem copier. If there is any corrupt data in the donor image, it is passed onto the cloned drive. SST is the best way to service these copiers. You get a clean system as a result. You can google to find places you could download Acronis.

You need software that will clone at the block level. The clone needs to be an exact copy of the original and the data probably can't be read by your PC anyway.

I'd recommend using SST though like mrfixit51. Finding a copier that is an exact match, both in model number and in terms of options installed, is able to be taken offline (not inconvenience customer) at short notice and that has a hard drive in perfect working condition i.e. no corrupt data, may be very difficult.

Some people clone hdds after setting them up using SST, but that does mean the customer's machine is offline for longer.

bnmand I have copies of hard disk all machines cloned in my laptop so its easy for me and sometimes depending on the model I dont even need to remove the HDD from the MFC. Its quiet easy for me compared to SST cause i learned clonning first, using SST later.

Interesting. You store images of the hard disk in your laptop? I didn't realise that was possible. What MFCs can you restore a clone onto whilst leaving the hard drive in the MFC?

most of the machines where i can plug the usb to ide laptop HDD converter. IDE desktop hdd is also possible but the there is external power involved so i generally remove it from mfc

The size of HDD image for 3300 is 40MB, 80MB for 2220i.

This may be of some help to you, or like bnmand offered, reading the manual for SST will instruct you in it's use.

If you make a clone with a working machine, can you get the mailboxes and address book?
