    ir105 hard drive change

I changed the hard drive of my IR105, i changed the itf file by copying a wdc hard disk and change it to my harddisk type. Does anyone know if there is limit of harddisksize for those machines. The Service Support Tool says it is not in my itf file but it is there. Maybe the harddisk is to large. I used a WDC WD1600JB-22GVC0 160GB hard drive.

    Thanks

Think the only thing is that you can edit the drive type but keep the size the same
The format IFT file looks for the correct size, not just the model type

    I tried that witha iRC3380i
I had a 20gig on my car, and not the 80gig, and my SST wouldn't have any of it, so managed to blag a 80gig from the customers ITC dept to get the machine working again

Not 100% the drive size on a 105, think it's either 20 or 40 gig

The drive size was initially 20g on those. I had used a few 160's several years ago, can't remember the model of copier I put them in, I just remember that my 80 gig source had dried up, and I tried the 160's and I was able to get them to work. They were hitachi drives, just remembered. I chose a hitachi drive in the ift file, copied the entire statement for that drive, pasted it back into the file, making sure the formatting looked the same as other entries, and just edited the model number to reflect the 160 model number. They worked fine.
