    Toshiba MK2018GAS in IR3300?

I have an old laptop that I am throwing away. Just wondering if the MK2018GAS hdd is worth keeping in case the hdd in an IR3300 fails? It's not the MK2023GAS on the hdd list, but it's similar so I guess it may work.

Anyone know if the MK2018GAS works when you modify the HDFormat.ift file?

I just tried this about 2 weeks ago. The SST doesn't like it, it doesn't see it as the 2023. The SST pukes everytime I tried to format or anything else.

          Try SST v1.81 for formatting

Do you need an old HDFormat.ift file to use with that, or do the new ones work fine, or you not need a HDFormat.ift file at all?

Your always gonna need a HDFormat.ift file when you need to reload canon's fimware back on to any HDD. The question is.. Is that HDFormat.ift file compatible for that drive(HDD). If not, you won't be able to reload firmware.
