Canon IR5020 Can this model do apha numeric numbering? If so how?

    ,
This customer asked me if there was a program that would do apha numeric page numbering.
Then she shows me something she downloaded "Image WARE Publishing Manager Pro edition3"
This sounds like a print management system.
She sez they can do this through adobe, but they would have to scan it into their system.
She wants it to do this in the copy mode.
Now if they scan this into a mail box and then print the file, would the machine be able to
alpha numerically number the pages while outputing the job?
This customer is a law firm and a long time customer.

    Thanks

    DR

it is possible to add the Date, User Name, and/or Page Numbers to a job when using the latest version Canon PCL5e/PCL5c/PCL6/PS3/UFR/UFRII Print Drivers

To Add the Date, User Name, and/or Page Numbers to a Print Job:
    1. Within the application, select File > Print.
    2. Select one of the imageRUNNER-iR Print Drivers and click Properties.
    3. On the Page Setup Tab, select the Page Options Button.
    4. Select any or all of the features you would like to use (Date, User Name, or Page Numbers).
    5. Select Ok and Ok again to print with these features.

******Fiery PS (Post Script) drivers are different and do not contain this option.

Q: Can you use the Page Numbering feature from the print driver?
A: You may use this feature; however, it’s not as extensive as the copy feature. If the user would like to Bates Stamp digital documents from his/her desktop, they may want to use Canon’s imageWARE Publishing Manager Professional Edition software.

The embedded endorsing feature is part of the copy function of the imageRUNNER devices.
    +You have :
Bates Stamping> is the technique used to allow documents to be shared by multiple parties with a guarantee that all parties are using the same document. Bates Stamped documents are typically endorsed with alphanumeric characters, leading zeros, watermarks, and date stamps. All are placed as headers or footers on a legal document. Canon’s embedded Page Numbering function allows you to quickly and easily apply Bates Stamps to legal documents from the imageRUNNER device, without any expensive add-on software. You can pre-select up to five digits (with leading zeros) and choose to apply the Bates Stamp in a header or footer. You can also customize and register a watermark, such as “Confidential.”

    9. If you wish to add text, such as firm name, press [Add Characters] (alphanumeric), then press [Next].
    10. Press [Enter].
    11. Type in the desired characters and press [OK], then press [Next].
    12. Specify [Align Center Top], then press [Next].
    13. Specify small size (10.5) and number color to black.
    14. Press [OK].
    15. Press [Done] twice

      Teckat,
Thank you for the speedy reply. It looks like this is in the operators manual? I have
copied this for the customer but will look in the manual for the section.
I am not sure if the customer has the op manual for this machine.
I would prefer to show the customer where to find the info so in the future they might
even look in the book first.

      Thanks again
