SST (Service Support Tool) is a generic program for all canon copiers (well not all, some really, really old ones don't use it). It's useless without the firmware to go with it.

So you need to specify the model it is e.g. Canon IR3300

Also why do you need to use the SST?

Cloning may be easier, but there is no upgrade path in that scenario. To upgrade any machine to the latest levels, SST and System Software for that copier are required...

true : i agree with you.if a machine is only having a hdd problem its the easiest way for me. Unless there any issues i dont touch the firmware.

u need the latest Firmware to solve the many issues on these imageRunners/imagePress machines.do no where u live but customers are now receiving info on these updates from Canon on line/ when they do/ they demand the update/also our network team demands u also do them when they are released.

Canon USA tech support /will not support a machine unless it has latest firmware

ah! thats the beauty . i own all the machines i service ,around 50(i think) of them various iR and Xerox models.as long as they run fine i am not too hasty to upgrade.

You got the SST already, just give yourself sometime to read through SST user manual.
This site got tons of info, you search info on SST, PDL,....... Try it.
                              And Lu mau main cloning?
                              Here are some....
