Let me ask a question.. I've should've asked.
When you first got your 7095 with the ribstone system did you have this issue?
What freezes up, both machine and ribstone or is it just your ribstone that's freezing?
How many documents are you trying to scan in?

        Ribstone Out of Business

For those Ribstone users that found out that Ribstone is no longer in business and Canon has hired a Third Party Tech group to support (which doesnt help and can not do remote access), what are you guys doing for scanning? Who are you guys switching to? Law Scanning, Ipro?
