    imagepress c1 E020 xx89/8b aaaaaaggggghhh!

Help im losing the will to live ! Canon imagepress C1 are ruining my life !

E 020 XX89 or 8b points to the bloody patch sensor its been replaced ,new drum ,dev units , itb , various wiring looms i.e from patch sensor , Atr sensor ,firm ware.
The machine lets you do a full 10 page printer auto grad lets you init devs but soon as you do a copy or print 1 copy comes out then throws the error code .
This machine has over 1.2million copies on it we have serviced it from new for the past 3 yrs.
I am fully canon trained on this product but sometimes when you talk to canon i get the feeling we know more than them .
any body out there with any ideas ? apart from a big hammer !

Here something to check out if you haven't done so yet. Check to see if Patch Detection Shutter Solenoid is connected properly to the shutter. This solenoid is located on the rear frame of the P Kit Assembly. Attach the Patch Detection Shutter Solenoid to the shutter and manually test for proper operation. Check that it is opening smoothly and in a straight direction.
In service mode you can actuate solenoid SL-8 for the shutter.

Also you can hear the solenoid open and close as the dev units spin for each color.
AND those sensors MUST be very clean, being on the bottom near the 2nd corona wire assy is not the best area to have them.

Pull the drum assy out and clean with a brush the led's top and bottom while your at it
I just finished a real bear of a problem with the side seals on the drum and what it did was to go through a lot of toner/starter
with the drum seal slowly failing and getting excess waste everywhere causing that same thing.

Remember it wont take much to get that error!

Thanks for the helps guys i managed to get the thing goin again did a DC con clear re input all data this sorted it out.
I have heard potential issue from canon and thats to to with resistance levels between Turret bearings and the machine chasis apparently if resistance greater than 60-70 ohms this can cause various dev and E020 probs .
i metered ours it turned out to be fine .

Once again thanks for your input . long live C 1 s ....................not !
