    IR3570 Scanning

Customer scans to MS Office Word and scanned image is reduced drastically. You can enlearge in Word but if you print it's still reduced. It's a lawyer who emails to other lawyers and it's difficult to read. When he scans from his Brother, it's fine. Is there any settings in Canon I need to look at. Not sure if this means anything but MS Word is Korean version(man is that a tough language to learn when you only know English). I even tried scanning in centimeters instead of inches, same result.

How are they scanning? From scangear or push scan direct from the copier?

I'm guessing they are using scangear. Most tabletop scanners are default to scan at a high dpi's, so the brother could be scanning @ 1200dpi or higher while I think scangear defaults to 150dpi, which in word the brother scan might look full size and sharp while the scangear image might look smaller or fuzzy if you enlarge it. Off the top of my head I can't remember where scangear lets you choose different resolutions, but try the highest resolution (600dpi?). Things you can look for in word are under page layout->size make sure its not default to 11x17 and under view->zoom is default 100% and print layout is selected.

A longshot but there might be a conflict between the canon and brother twain drivers, assuming there is a brother driver and you are using scangear. You could try scanning from another computer or uninstall the brother twain driver.
