Canon IR-C3170 Magenta Toner recovery E4-01 codes

Replaced the toner and follow toner recovery instructions on the display. E4-01 results. Had this on a cyan replacement a while back and turning off before opening panel finally accomplished reset. What can I do to get past this? Any help greatly appreciated

    You have E004-0001
    That's fuser related,
    plus some other issues,
    like power related.

The Fuser code I think is the result of opening the front door while following the toner recovery procedure on the control panel. This machine drives me crazy. I need to find a way for it to know the toner has been replaced as it has and shut up and make copies.

check your recent error history / write down codes / then post how they read out

Error code E004-0001 is described as a protection circuit error of the fixing unit, specifically a fixing assembly triac malfunction / 13V power supply error.
The sub code of 0001 is described as a short circuit in the triac (for 1 second or more continuously) while the heater remains off for 40 msecs. continuously.

*****Check the door actuating switch MS3. If the switch is in the fully actuated state even with the right door open> this code has been present.
Repositioning the metal cover to adjust if so

I checked all the door switches. The error only shows up during toner recovery. The firmware looks mismatched. panel is 00.01 while the others start at 3 and go as high as version 11. Canon should be ashamed of this badboy. Working on an upgrade. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond
