    Canon ir6000 parallel conectivty problem

    I have Canon Ir6000 copier.
    I have parallel interface only.
    I downloaded win7 driver.
    I installed the driver sucssesfully.

When printing the machine gives message ( reciving) blinking and the message gone without any printing.

There is no error message from computer or the machine but not print.

    Any advice
    My e-mail is awad@united-marketing.com

    Thanks and best regards

check service mode under 'Version', check to see if it shows that there is a PS/PCL version. If not, then most likely stand-alone system software is loaded on machine. Even though the machine has the network boot dimm it will not be able to print. Load system software version for Network

Also check the label on the boot ROM - if it ends in 'C' then no mater what you do it will not print. If it ends in 'N' then see Teckat's reply above.

As far as I am aware - and please correct me if I am wrong - that the iR machines couldn't print through the parallel port and required a network board (Print kit - A2) in order for it to print, the parallel port was for service use in the system software upgrade if a network port port wasn't available?!?

Most likely it doesn't have the correct boot-rom or print drivers as it doesn't have a NIC installed by the sounds of it.

You should get a network print kit for the copier. If you get one of these and install it properly you'll not only be able to print over your network, but do network scanning as well. It is possible to pick network print kits up quite cheaply for older models like the IR6000 if you hunt for a bargain.
