And what was it that you did by the book.
    Did you replace any parts?

Error Code E061-0001 and the image is distorted and elongated when Potential Control is off. After extensive testing the copies became blank with Potential Control off.

In this case, the screw that attaches the gear to the drum shaft was broken. The drum would turn about 1/4 turn when observed from the front side of the machine. As a temporary fix, the drum shaft was flipped and a different screw was used to attach the drum drive gear. The below image shows the location of the Drum Shaft Unit (Part Number FM2-0510-000).

imageRUNNER will display an error code of E061-0001. The problem may be intermittent. This may be caused by a Potential Control problem, Laser shutter or possibly a Corona. A bad ground has also been found to cause instances of E061.

E061 error code is related to the High Voltage (HVT) Board. Check the ground wire on the HVT 1 to be sure there is good contact to the frame. Below the location of HVT 1, and the ground wire are pictured.

If potential control is turned off and you get a black copy but no code, check the laser shutter operation. If shutter is working properly it has been found that the laser assembly can cause this issue.
Check_COPIER > ADJUST > V-CONT > EPOTOFST and confirm it is at specified Value.

            What's the meter count?
You can try replacing the primary corona ass'y first.
Also teckat has given you some good direction.
            Good luck.

Thank you Smiley, I did try that but was still receiving the error code
Teckat - I'll be out there today and try that.
Screwtape - Machine has a meter of 182k

Thank you so much for the additional help. Hopefully something works.

Take a good look at the wires at the connector for the potential control harness just above the drum...the connector that you have to unplug to pull everything out. If it has been plugged and unplugged a few times the wires break...if you have a service manual it is right in the manual that they talk about this and other harnesses and show the errors that they would generate...i carry a harness with me. Did you turn off potential control and try the machine? Does the drum turn(see Teckats post).... i have seen two machines in which manufacturing used too short of screw for the drum shaft.
