My c5185 doesnt have universal send, how is that possible???

Hi, i recently bought a canon c5185 on ebay and it doesnt have the universal send. there is no send button on the copier. I thought universal send is standard and not optional on that copier.
    Could it be dissabled?
Should i contact the seller and demand it, or is it optional on my machine.

I have it on a C3220 that i dont need, could i transfer it to my new copier?

    Thanks

    check-in service mode -Level 2
***To turn the Send UI back on go to service mode level 2 copier/option/body/ UI-EXT or UI-SEND turn this from 0 to 1 and your send tab should be back.

Enter Service Mode by hitting Additional Functions, 2 and 8, and then Additional Functions.
    2. Hit COPIER > DISPLAY > ACC-STS and view the value for SEND.
3.If a 0 is displayed for SEND, then the Send function is absent, if a 1 or 2 is displayed for SEND, then the Send function is present.

Make sure Dept ID is off in Additional Functions > System Settings > Dept ID >

Also check that Limited Functions is off>in >additional function>, common settings

    no u cant transfer

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but PDF universal send only comes standard with the "i" series. Technically yours does have uni send standard, but it is the trial kit B1.
You will need to add one of these:

1323B002AA uni send advanced PDF feature
      or
1324B002AA uni send secure PDF feature.

While well worth the money, eCopy is far more expensive and complicated than Universal Send.

FYI... Just in case anyone needs to know, the trial version of Universal Send is only good for a total of 100 scans, regardless of number of pages or time frame. Plus you can't install the trial version more than once (tried that...got bummed...).

If you got universal send up and running, you should be able to scan what ever you want. There's really no limit.

There was a page on Canon's site that let you go through all the functions of the Universal Send. We resell C3200's and I used this site to help our Customers set it up.
