ir 1025if set time / date

I can't find where to set time / date on my Canon ir1025if. Activity reports, etc. are incorrect. I found where I can change date format and timezone, as well as DST, but not where I can assign a time server or manually set the time via the RUI.

Think under Device Configuration in RUI

Language/Time Zone option under Device Configuration

I have navigated every menu in the RUI, and the only thing I have found is under add func | common settings | timer settings , where I can adjust daylight savings time and time zone information. Nowhere can I set the date or time directly. If this is a clue, the system date appears to have started in feb of 2013. cut / paste from RUI menu below. A lot of fax / phone systems will pick up the time during the caller id transmission on an incoming ring, but no joy there , either.

      Date & Time Setup: MM/DD/YYYY
      Time Zone:
      Use Auto Sleep min(3-30)
      Use Auto Clear min(1-9)
      Use Daylight Saving Time Settings

My advice is to walk over to the copier, drill down to the settings under additional functions to set the time, date, zone, and be done with it. RUI is supposed to make life easier, not harder. In this case, manual change will take less time than continuing to struggle with RUI implementation of this change.

Consulting the user manual, will bring you the knowledge you seek.

just my 2 cents worth... ;-)

Correct DST settings on some image runners were addressed with a firmware update

Thanks for the info. I finally had to have an end user walk over to the unit and set it from the control pad. Very annoying not to have this basic functionality in the RUI. Even more annoying to not be able to set a time server -- even $50 routers can hit a time server for updates, what kernel are they working off of for their IP stack?

              Nothing sophisticated about the O.S.

IP stack, basic standard TCP/IP Protocol.

End users need to understand that there are some functions they are capable and responsible of doing / like add toner/add paper/make control panel printer/copier adjustments, all by themselves .

In the 1025f that is what the Basic Operation Guide,Advanced Op Guide ,Service Guide, & Quick Start Guide are for customers to Read & not throw them in the corner.
