IR8500- Does the HHD need to be a certian brand???

When trying to run hdformat in the sst, pink screen of death comes up. and gives me the model and make of the HDD as the error??? Has anyone had this? It's a first for me....thanks

your model and serial number are not in your IFT file for the hdformat. You can do a search that are plenty of threads that already go over how to do this.
Seagate, Hitachi, Toshiba are all models that Canon uses
