Its common for the little white lever in the delivery area to get knocked out of place. Don't bother with the dip switches to move the rolls out of place...put a paper in adf,hit start,as soon as pickup rolls drop open left cover. Make sure when you replace the sep pad that you transfer the small idler rolls from the old assembly to the new one...it doesn't come with them. Baseline the adf before anything(height, position, etc). It doesn't sound like rolls or seep pad is gonna fix your problem....jam codes???

change or clean sep pad. when you have pad out stretch spring a little bit and this should help future problems. to remove pad...put dip switches 3, 5, and 6 on...hit sw1, lower adf and rollers should lower. once work is done turn switches off, hit sw1 again and cycle power.

Thanks for all the great info. I was able to replace the sep pad easily as a result. However my problem is still not resolved. I went to check the sensor flag at the rt exit area and discovered it was installed 180 out. when I repaired that the paper would go further but crash into a white clip in the middle of the exit diverter. unable to easily see how it was supposed to be installed I simply removed it and now the paper gets an inch and a half out of the exit and jams. It appears someone has messed with this thing and it is not right. It is much more difficult to find problems with mis reassembly than normal natural causes. I need an SM and PM now I think.

If none of the above works look closely at the static eliminator on the left side door. I had one recently where the thin metal was slightly deformed and the paper would catch on it - either jamming, skewing even just putting a little nick on the edge of the original and keep going.
