good point about unplugging HARD DRIVE/ Atta_ please note that if u un plug HDD/ & turn on printer, u should see machine start> up LCD> on panel come up and throw an E602 error code/ if nothing happens on screen u most likely have a power supply issue/ it is just like testing your own PC at home when it will not boot up- u eliminating either the HDD or Power supply**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

The power supplies are controlled by the main controller board, if the main controller is fubar, the power supplies do not energize the secondary circuits, the ones that provide power to the rest of the copier..."Once a King, always a King, but once a Knight is enough!"

You are right man! all the vital components pick their connections from the main board. So if the power gets to the main board and it's not able to regulate it properly the system (copier) will not light up/warmup. I am still trouble shooting/testing some of the components but guys is not easy at all. I am using the working ir3225 to get some informations by swaping parts though i know it's dangerous but i got no choice. wish me luck guys. thanks... on... on..... we go !!! regards,Last edited by Atta; 07-10-2010, 04:25 PM.Comment

just remember there are some Pcb's that are not swappable between the 3225 and 3235/ check your parts book to confirm/
like i posted before the MAIN Controllers are definitely not swappable !!!!!!!!!!**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Usually you can smell a burnt chip....a lot of shotgun blasting and not much troubleshooting going on here....grab the manual and a meter...all Canons have a remote signal generated by the main controller...if it is missing none of the boards or power supplies will fire upComment

Re: IR3235 Canon
If the Main Controller "registered value" ID does not match the REAL TIME CLOCK (RTC) ID, the Main Controller Malfunctions; preventing the LCD display from powering up or no power to unit. By shorting JP1 on the Main Controller it will clear the RTC "registered value", to correct the ID between the Main Controller and RTC Circuit.
Procedure:
1. Turn OFF the Main Unit.
2. Either unplug the power cord from the wall.
3. Remove the rear cover of the Main Unit.
4. Below the left leg of the Battery, jump JP1 for 3-5 seconds.
5. Plug in the power cord and turn on the Main Unit.
6. Verify that the Main Unit powers ON and that the LCD display works.
7. Re-install the rear cover.
