Maybe the finisher is trying to staple, but can't for some reason, like jammed staples. (There would be no error code(s) for that.)

Listen VERY carefully to the finisher when it should be stapling, and listen for what sounds like stapling.

Your problem may be as simple as a gunked up staple cartridge or two.

Is there only one place and one staple cartridge though?

So... it's not working because the saddle stitchers are broken?

make sure the staple cartridge is not in backwards/ i can't tell u how many times i have seen a cartridge in the wrong way

Saddle Finisher T2 / R2 / Q2 / Q4 / AA2 / AC2 / AD2 / AE2

Check the saddle stitch assembly, Check if the front and/rear Stapler Guide is mounted correctly. The guides should be mounted behind the protruding screw. See attached photos.
