We have one of these machines that was traded in and is now going back to a leasing company. We are not a Canon dealer but the customer has requested that we wipe everything out of the address book and/or copier. Can anyone tell me how to do this or how to access the service mode on this machine if that is where we need to go? Thanks in advance for any help.

These models don't have a HDD, but some have a USB memory stick. If it did have a USB memory stick it would be plugged into the main controller in the rear.
Press additional functions(*), 2, 8, then additional functions(*) again.
Scroll down until you see "Clear"
Select "Tel & User Data" and press "OK" -
I would do a "Clear All" instead of "Tel & User Data" on it instead to start fresh. This will wipe any address book or network information and user settings. I was told that USB drive only held temporary scan image area for scan enabled machines? You can pull it out of machine and machine runs fine without it.The glass maybe half full, but less is more...
