    [Misc] Canon IR3225 USB function

I saw the canon M/C have 2 USB port: 1 is on side of control panel, another one near that LAN port. Actually the 2 USB port for what?
I try to plug Pen Drive in the 2 USB port but the M/C seem can't detect my Pen Drive because i try to search whole M/C fuction in control panel still can't see my Pen Drive's drive? In system monitor also can't see any Pen Drive status in M/C.

Is this canon M/C can't read the FAT32 file system Pen Drive? Or need to extra add-on the function?

date stored in Mail Box to media, etc.

    • LMS Activated

    imageRUNNER 3245 / 3245i / 3235 / 3235i / 3230 / 3225 Direct Print to USB Functionality on the imageRUNNER 3245 Series
How can you print directly from a USB device to the imageRUNNER.

You can print files of a maximum size of 2 GB. 1. Press [Mail Box].
    2. Press [Memory Media].
    3. Select the memory media → press [Open].
    4. Select the document to print → press [Print].
    5. To print a PDF, JPEG or TIFF file, select the paper size, press [Done].
    6. Press [Start Print].

In order for this function to work, you will need the following items. Please pay attention to the notes for each item since requirements may be different for specific models.

    Item Description Item Number See Notes Additional Memory Type A 512MB 2726B001AA 1 Direct Print Kit- F1 1542B004AA PCL Print Kit - AA1 2722B002AA 1 PS Print Kit- AA1 2729B002AA 1, 2, 3 USB Memory Connectivity Kit-A1 2729B001AA 4

Note 1: Standard on the 3245i/3235i models and optional on the 3245/3235/3230/3225 models.
Note 2: Requires the PCL Printer Kit-AA1.
Note 3: Requires the Additional Memory Type A (512MB RAM).
Note 4 : Requires the PS Printer Kit-AA1 or Direct Print Kit-F1 on the 3245/3235/3230/3225 models for the 'print from USB Memory Media' function.

The only document types supported via the USB port on the control panel are PDF, JPEG and TIFF. If a document is one of these file types it will be listed. Any other file type will NOT be listed as those file types are not printable. This allows for easier searching for files in the folders on the USB drive as only printable files are displayed.

Note: Using this feature is an option and the port is LMS activated. The option is listed in the service guide as USB Memory Connectivity Kit-A1. It is used in conjunction with PS Printing or the Direct Print Kit-F1.

Certain optional software features are pre-installed on all new units, and in
order to activate the software programs, the feature must be licensed through
the License Management System (LMS). This replaces the need for additional
hardware or dongles to activate new software. Refer to the LMS section
    herein for further details.

Integration with USB Memory will allow users to easily store documents
scanned at the imageRUNNER device to their USB Memory, or print out
documents from their USB Memory without hooking up a laptop to the device
(requires the device to be configured with PS printing or Direct Print Kit-F1).
The new operation panel screen has a wider angle for better viewing and a
faster response time with an added volume control key and an USB I/F on the
    side enabling quick USB connection.
