    iR C3220 Printing slow ( drawings, PDF drawings )

    Hi guys,

    just checking if you have any info about this problem.

    iR C3220 prints very slow when handling drawing files (i.e autocad), or those PDF drawing files.( PCL drivers)

    my workaround with this problem is to install the UFR v1.4
    this increases the printing of this files from 15 mins to 2-3 mins.

    however, UFR v1.4 is supported only until windows xp ( but can be used on windows vista ) and on 32bit OS only.

    nowadays, alot of our customers are using windows 7 or 64 bit OS's on which UFR v1.4 doesn't work. and so this problem continues...

    how about you guys? anybody experienced this problem?

      PDF files had alway's printed slow. Drivers, Apps,ETC all make a difference.
      I don't think a UFR print driver will make much of a difference.
      Plus the qaulity will be affected with a UFR driver.
      Try using a PS driver. Can't remember if a PS kit is required.

      Check out Adobe's website, there are some patches that can correct this issue.

      What app is being use to print these PDF's?
      Does this happen to all PDF's.

          yes I do agree that the quality is really affected when using UFR.

          actually text PDF comes out ok, only drawings ( files created from CAD programs i.e autocad,intellicad) are having this problems.

          I've already tried PS drivers but they are slower than PCL...

              The PS driver is the best thing for those PDF's so something else might be gonig on here and you can verify that the PS kit is installed by going into counter check>device configuration>On page 2 it should say UFR and PS/PCL, but with Windows 7 you are limited the PCL as that is the only driver supported and on Vista you get both the PCL and PS but not the UFR driver.

              I am curious as to how you have the driver setup at these workstations and if the print job is spooling in the print queue that long or processing at the copier?
              Also are the setup to print directly to the copier or are they printing through a print server?

                  Have you tried changing the qaulity setting to CAD.
