[Misc] Need System Software for IR5000

I am trying to network an ir5000 which was not previously networked. I have installed network card and boot rom but I do not have the system software for the system. Is there anything I can do without the software or can anyone hook me up?? Please!!!

u installed a Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A2 >>???

u should have the 5000 N Firmware on the SST on your Laptop
look for it / should be there if u have the 5000 v20.01 Firmware loaded

u need the SST -Canon service support tool- to install 5000 Firmware

What does it say by the serial# IR5000,5000d when you hit counter check at the bottom left. When firmware is correctly installed. Check the to see if the model changes to a 5000dN. Failure to correctly flash this machine will resort to boot up problems. The boot gets flash first,V26.44, then the system v82.03,Rui v81.01. This procedure refers to converting a 5000d to a 5000dN.

As noted by Teckat, firmware and the sst will be needed in order to flash the IR5000. Also you must use a parallel connection to flash the machine with firmware.

There are two CD roms as I recall back in the days of this model. This firmware can now be downloaded by register users.

Are you a register to Canon.
