Toner Not Being Supplied to Hopper Assembly

countermeasure that concerns an issue with the toner supply
mechanism.
Two different symptoms will occur as a result of this issue:
1. When installing the imageRUNNER 3245 Series, performing service mode “Toner-S” will not
complete successfully.
2. After a customer replaces the toner cartridge, the message “Replace Toner Cartridge” does not clear.
These issues are caused by the Set Lever not traveling to the correct position to allow the Toner Bottle seal
to open.
SERVICING PROCEDURE:
Follow the procedure below to determine if the Set Lever is not in the proper position.
1. Remove the Delivery Tray [1].

2. Upon removing the Delivery Tray, check the position of the Fan Gear, (FC5-1217-000) [5], in the photo below.

The Fan Gear should be positioned as seen in Figure [A]. The position in Figure [B] is the incorrect position.
Canon USA Inc. will be offering a free parts distribution for the serial numbers affected.

If the Fan Gear is in the incorrect position, replace the Set Lever (FC8-1126-000) with a new one.

NOTE: Some engines have tape [4] wrapped around the set Lever Shaft [5]. Please remove the tape before
installing the new Set Lever.
