Just a follow-up...I re-booted, and re-seated all the connections (again) and suddenly got to the setup screen, as I had not been able to do previously. Maybe re-seating the cables again did the trick. Someone somewhere on this forum had mentioned about the finickiness (sp?) of a Fiery...maybe they all belong to the club. Since I'll be tending to this one, I'll be able to find out first hand how stable they are. Anyway, I was able to the machine setup on the network with scan and print capability (as well as fax and copy), so the customer is happy.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED OUT; I REALLY COULDN'T HAVE DONE THIS ONE WITHOUT YOU GUYS!

as a follow-up to the questions...here is the label from the Fiery:
        C5180 Fiery label.jpg
It is an X3IM with the Canon logo...

Here is a picture of the Fiery:

And, for the record, here's a pic of the machine. It was purchased for $800; meter is 68K:

(First time uploading pics; I hope they're viewable.

        Again...thanks!!

that is a bargain at $800/ & 68,000 prints- w/Finisher & Fiery - point me to where u purchased it

That is an imagePass H1 Fiery- that X3IM is just a EFI Fiery print controller

Good Luck, I should have asked if box was attached to back

I see a DANKA label on it/ I used to work for them/ thought they do not support Canon products/ Canon dumped them a few years back

Hey...thanks for that! I didn't buy it...my client found it from a friend of a friend. There's been so much going-out-of-business stuff going on in South Florida, I'll bet there are more. Then again, it's not often you find one of these free and clear (and I don't know if it even *was* "free and clear - none of my business, I suppose).

My brother and I worked there too. My brother still at danka/KM, and is still working on Canon boxes. They just have no access to any help from Canon, nor can they sell any new Canon technology.
