    IR3025 rebooting

Machine will reboot every few minutes - sometimes when idle, sometimes during copying (which leaves a power-on jam after rebooted).

This started happening after the machine was moved about 1/2 mile to their new location. Machine has no dents or obvious signs of shipping damage.

I have reseated all connectors for main and dc con, single ram chip, bootrom and hard drive with no change.

110K on meter, MN-Cont v23.01 DC-Con v3.04, has fax and usend in case it matters.

Customer is billable so I didn't want to start ordering a lot of parts (don't have a parts machine on hand for this model).
    Any ideas?

Go in Additional functions>System Settings>Network settings>TCP-IP>Multicast Discovery and setting it to "off" (default is "on").

Power off the imageRUNNER for the changes to update on the machine. Power unit on.

      Thanks for the reply.

      Is this a common issue?
I'll talk the customer through it on the phone tomorrow morning and check back in the afternoon to see if it took care of the problem.

Before the machine was moved, did it have this problem. I see you mention that it all started when it was moved.

        Your HDD could've gotton damage.

This is a new customer for me. They told me it all started after the move and I'm inclined to believe them.

            I hear that.

Check service mode for any errors in the history .

Could be bad HDD from move.Clear the RAM and check the ground clip on the silver registration roller. And re-install the firmware......this is a cheap start

I had the customer turn multicast discovery off yesterday morning and she thinks the machine was fine for the rest of the day (machine is in a hallway by itself, but she can usually hear when it reboots). Time will tell.

                Thanks again.

Turning Multicast off might be a good shout , lets hope it is that.

BUT , I have had to replace 2 main controllers on these for randomly re booting.
