    IRC 2570 / 3170 / 3100 - Line on Copy due to CIS Unit

    I am maintaining about 10 IRC 2570i/ 3180i/ 3170i (IRC 3100).
We are pissed off by a problem of frequent Lines on copy from top to bottom due to CIS unit. is there any way to adjust / clean / get rid of it ?

SO THIS MEANS YOUR Prints are Clean/ & only Copies have this issue ??

Possibly some dirt on the lens array

clean it and run copier>option>body>ccd-lut and copier>function>ccd>lut-adj2 to set the CCD gain correction

    or replace
    Contact Image Sensor Assembly (FM2-1563-000)

After replacing the assembly be sure to set the new values on the CIS Assembly in service mode:
    • COPIER>ADJUST>CCD>CCDU-RG
    • COPIER>ADJUST>CCD>MTF-MG
    • COPIER>ADJUST>CCD>MTF-SG

I think Teckat is hinting that failure of the CIS on that many machines is very rare. You need to run an internal print. Print out the user reports, or better yet, run the p-print,, or service mode : test-PG. 6 is the grid, 10 is the horizontal stripes in the sub scan direction. The IRC 3100 has problems with the ITB cleaning blade needing cleaned or replaced all the time. I hate this machine. It cost too much to service.
Yes, I am here to fix your machine. No, your machine went out of warranty 18 years ago.
