We have a customer who has a 3045 with fax and network print, They would like to add universal scan to copier and purchased a universal send and pcl2/pcl kit, My question is can there IT dept. activate the program or is it a service issue. Of course they are trying to save some money by having there IT dept.install it if they can. Thanks for replys

The universal send kit is a LMS license issue, if there IT is smart enough to gain the license, and install the license on the copier, then they can get by without the service person. I believe the UFRII/PCL is BootRom chip related, so they would probably need a tech for that...
They can go cheap,, and pay big dollars to resolve the resulting problems later...
