It is my understanding that it does not have an LPT port (excatly). What looks like LPT is actually a service port for loading system software.

He was right when he said you need to purchase and install a print kit (not what I would call a user installed option).

Network port was part of the print kit,,, Nic card and N boot rom were in the kit, Then network version of system software and boot software were needed to be installed on the copier in order for the process to complete. If there is no ethernet port on the copier,,, it WILL NOT print...

              CostD,,,he types faster that I do... ;-)

As well as being able to print from a PC/Mac, if you get the network kit, get it installed in the copier and get a tech to install the network firmware you will also be able to pull scan in B/W to a Windows Machine on your network. Download the Canon Network ScanGear Tool (I use v 2.21). Don't get the Colour version as it won't work. The manual for how to use the ScanGear tool is included in the download. You can use it with a variety of apps to scan documents in. My favourite is to use it with Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro.

I find the ability to scan is more useful these days than being able to print to the copier (you can use ordinary cheap laser printers to print most things). The copier is my only printer that prints double-sided and the only one to have an A3 paper tray, but I don't use these features much when printing. Mainly just when photocopying. Scanning is very useful as you can use it to keep electronic copies of important documents.

Scanning is a handy use for the copier! The 3300 has a very good doc feeder on it...

As far as a cheap laser printers go, the only thing cheap is the original price of the printer. The cartridges are very expensive. You can make prints on the copier for less money than on your "cheap" laser printer. Even if you use refilled cartridges, the cost per print is lower on the copier.
