I'm working on an IR5000 copier works for about 50 copies then goes to code. The copies are light in the center.

The hopper connector is left disconnected. The hopper motor (M9/M10) is
faulty. The toner sensor (TS1/TS2) is faulty. The DC controller PCB is
faulty.

Check your developer as well.

Copies are get light,

check your bias connector thats on the developer.

If there is a message on the screen of the control panel stating, Check hopper connector, then check it. If not, then check the developer.

Another thing to check is the developer clutch. I've had to replace it once they get in the 2-3 million range.

Yeah and its starving developer.

Check if the flat spot on the 42 Tooth Gear in the Hooper Drive Assembly becomes rounded off.
The part number for the Gear is FU6-0728-000.
This could cause some feeding problem.

e020 my recollection tells me that ur hopper unit has toner and was not delivered to ur developer. temporary fix is to fill-up ur developer w/ toner to give u time to look for a hopper unit replacement.
