Without experience you can have more issues with SST.

You will also need the new usb to parallel cable from Canon.

You don't necessarily need a USB to parallel cable. If you have an old laptop with a parallel port or a desktop PC with a parallel port you can use that and a standard IEEE1284 bi-centronics parallel cable.

Yes, Canon makes the only usb-to-parallel cable that works with SST.

Putting the cart before the horse here,, you also need the correct hard drive here as well.

                  1. correct hard drive
                  2. Service Support Tool
                  3. iR5000 System Software
                  4. Someone who knows how to properly accomplish this task...

It might be time to call in a Canon trained technician...

                            Hi.
No need USB to PARALEL Cable. If you have a clone image from the original HDD.

We do not have to use Canon's USB cable from LPT1 Parallel
Archived images you copy from HDD to a virgin HDD.
Then just turn on the MFP and use it.

u better make sure the cloned HDD has no impending issues / & permission from a customer to do so./
