    advise needed

    is it worth buying Canon IR 3170 color machine. kindly let me know. am going to use it only for paper printout. also let me know whether i can use 170 gsm artpaper in it, if not let me know the other options

      Better choice is ir2380 or 2880.

      Canon IR 3170 is bullshit.

          You should stay away from this machine unless you get free parts and service. I also like the IRC 2880/3880. I even like the IRC 2550. Look at the post for most hated machines.
          Yes, I am here to fix your machine. No, your machine went out of warranty 18 years ago.

              My advice to you, stay away from it. It's rotary engine is very noisy, the color developer unit easily leaks & the single drum unit does not last. It's a high $$$ to maintain unit...thats my opinion...

                  Better get a IRC3200, much better and not really not that expensive anymore. Easy to service, reliable and much better print and allot faster.

                                  Stay away from the irc3170 . Canon offered a buyback/ upgrade promo to get those out of the field.
