Canon IRC2620 MP tray won't detect A4R or SRA3 sizes

    Hi all

Our client has a Canon IRC2620 that the multipurpose tray will not detect A4R or SRA3! It recognises A4 and A3 fine. . .

I set the guides for one of the sizes above and on the screen, select A4R, the printer then gives me a message to say the guides don't match the size specified.

I have tried a new sensor for the guides but no different.

Fortunately there are 2 CLC3200 machines there too so I swapped over the MP tray/registration assy but the same thing happened!

The MP Tray/registration assy from the CLC3200 definately is working.

I just cant get the IC2620 to recognise the sizes mentioned above. . . .

    Anybody have any ideas?

does it help to assign a user defined format to the tray?
did you calibrate the new sensor via service mode?

u can use paper to adjust/ or move slides to set each A4 SIZE

      COPIER>ADJUST<CST-ADJ>
      MF-A4R
Used to enter the basic value for the manual feed tray’s paper width (A4R).
Adjustment • If you have cleared the DC controller PCB’s RAM or replaced the DC
method controller PCB, enter the value on the service label.
      • When replacing the paper width detection VR or registering a new
value, execute the following service mode: FUNCTION>CST.
      Adjustment 0 to 255
range (Value at time of factory shipment: Factory-adjusted value)
      (Value after RAM clear: 141)

      MF-A6R
Used to enter the basic value for the manual feed tray’s paper width (A6R).
      (Value after RAM clear: 235)

      MF-A4
Used to enter the basic value for the manual feed tray’s paper width (A4).
      (Value after RAM clear: 26)

      Also Check settings

      MODEL-SZ
Used to select standard variable magnification display and ADF document
      size detection.
Caution The setting value takes effect after the main power switch is turned OFF/ON.
      Setting 0: AB (6R5E)
      values 1: INCH (5R4E)
      2: A (3R3E)
      3: AB/INCH (6R5E)

        Thanks Teckat

I have checked the service manual for the funcrion/cst in service mode and this seems to relate to the DADF inout tray??

My problem is with the lower right multipurpose tray.

        Regards

            that is a miss quote-disregard

Sorry/ but either of these adjustments will do

            COPIER>ADJUST>CST-ADJ>MF-A4R
Use it to adjust the paper width basic value for the manual feed tray.
            COPIER>ADJUST>CST-ADJ>MF-A6R
Use it to adjust the paper width basic value for the manual feed tray.
            COPIER>ADJUST>CST-ADJ>MF-A4
Use it to adjust the paper width basic value for the manual feed tray.

            Go in here- COPIER>FUNCTION>select <CST>
            Automatically adjusts cassette/manual feed tray.

            MF-A4R, MF-A6R, MF-A4
Registers basic value of manual feeder’s paper width.
            A4R width: 210mm, A6R width: 105mm, A4 width: 297mm
            • Once registered, the basic value can be fine-tuned by executing
            COPIER> ADJUST > CST-ADJ > MF-A4R, MF-A6R or MF-A4.

            Operation
            1) Place A4R size paper in the manual feeder, and set the size guide to the
            method A4R width.

            2) In this service mode, select “MF-A4R” to display the item in reverse.
Press the OK key to perform automatic adjustment and register the
            value.

            3) Repeat Steps 1) and 2) to register the basic values for the A6R and A4
            sizes.
