    iR7095 error E578

    Good day everybody,
Solve the E197 problem on iR7095 but today the same machine show E578, Search the service manual but there is no such error in the manual. What could be the problem.
BTW do anyone of u guys have the Finisher V1/V2 service manual which can share me a copy. Much appreciated.

What could be the problem? Where do I start......That code has been a continuous nightmare on the V sorter with the internal puncher. Canon came out with a techpub of procedures to try and prevent that code and various firmware updates. Here is the techpub: TP06_217.pdf

I Think that Finisher V1/V2 holds the Canon Record for Knowledge Base & Tech.Pubs Published= it is without any doubt the worst Finisher I can think of.

Try a Firmware update first= if not already done- to v80.02 / Finisher ver. is 22.01 with that.

I believe if u use the USB ver. of the Firmware on this model it will update Finisher & Binder/ not sure about Puncher/Trimmer

When installing System Software onto imageRUNNER 7086/ 7095/ 7105/ 7095 Printer copiers lower than
v55.05, the following important steps must be followed:

        1. Place the machine in Download Mode by holding down 2 & 8 and powering ON the main switch.
        2. Using the Service Support Tool v4.22Et, check the “Special Box” at the top left.
        3. Select “iR7105” Folder/ “SINGLE” and install “Special BootROM v10.99”.
        4. Turn OFF the Machine and then back ON holding 2 & 8 to place back into Download Mode.
Once the BootROM is rewritten, it cannot be returned to the old model version.
        5. Using the Service Support Tool v4.22Et, select iR7105_V2 and perform an “ALL PARTIONS” HDFORMAT
to the Hard Disk Drive [HDD].
        6. Select “ALL” to install System Software v55.05 or higher.
        7. Power OFF & ON Machine. The machine will extract and install the system software.
        8. When installation is completed, turn OFF, then ON holding down 1 & 7 to place into “FIXED IP”
        Download Mode.
        9. Select iR7105_V2 and select “SINGLE” to install the Accessories.
        Note:
After flashing the accessories firmware by way of an ARCNET connection, be sure to select the
“SHUTDOWN” button on the Service Support Tool or the accessories will not upgrade. Pressing the
        Shutdown will place the 7086/ 7105/ 7096/ 7105 printer into a pre-shutdown mode.
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

The info on that E-code can be found in the service manual of, V1,V2 finisher.

Update the firmware following the procedure Tekcat posted. It's a good idea to start there. Sad to inform you though that about half the time that doesn't help with the code. Best of luck to you.
