    [Misc] Canon CLC3220 with an Colorpass Z-3000

    Hi,

    We own a Canon CLC3220 with an Colorpass Z-3000 Fiery.
    We have updated our server from Win 2003 to Win 2008 but there are no drivers
    for the Z-3000, so we have to plug the copier directly to the network.
    I didnt see any IP-Settings the only setting was SMTP.
    I red in this thread that I have to activate it in the maintenance menu.
    But they only discribed how to activate the fiery,
    but not how to deactivate it to set the IP.

    ->maintenance
    ->copier
    ->option
    ->int-face
    ->img-cont

    And then?

    I think the config page print also driscribed in this thread will be helpfull,
    I am glad I found it because there is no maintenance-manual PDF on the web.

    Thank you

    If you have a Fiery connected to your 3220, then you cannot directly connect the copier to a network and print to it. Search elsewhere in this forum, and you will find this has already been covered extensively either under 3200 or 3220 messages. The bootrom in your copier presently is a stand alone copier bootrom, and does not allow you to print to it.

    There are 2 methods to print to your copier, as you already have the fiery setup, and a print kit. The print kit allowed you to hook directly to a network and print. You will have to experiment with some other drivers for the Fiery...

      Thank you for the answer, I already tried alot of different drivers and dont want to spend to much time on the driver, and we dont really need that Fiery.
      I just wanted to know how to deactivate the Fiery in the maint. menu if there is a print controller integradet,
      a friend of mine who is working at a canon support partner told me friday they are all delivered with an own printer ontroller and its just a maint. menu setting.
      so i was asking if it is the setting and does setting it to 0 give me the possibility to set the ip adress in the menu.

      EDIT:
      Setting 0: Normal mode (no PS print server unit) (value at time of factoryvalues shipment)
      1: Not used
      2: Not used
      3: PS print server unit
      4: Not used
      5: Not used
      So this setting "img-conf 0" is the only setting i have to do, isnt it?

        U first need to print out a P Print / User Data Print Outs / u will see that on on BOOT ROM Ver. your 3220 printer is C boot Rom
        ,

        When u disconnect the Fiery/ an NBoot Rom will needed + the Kit below/ it in the kit below

        Color Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A2
        This Canon controller provides printing functionality to the general office user.
        It is suitable for everyday office use, and is most appropriate when only a few
        (less than five) people are sharing the device, using text-intensive Microsoft
        Office applications and with a relatively low print volume. This controller is not
        appropriate for those using Macintosh operating systems

          Most newer models come standard with scanning and printing. But, the 3220 doesn't.
          If you change the interface setting back to 0, its not going to do much for you. You will still need a Color Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit if you want to set the machine up as a printer. If you looking for a print driver check out the link below.

            Your friend was mistaken, the older copier will not print without the 2 mentioned schemes from the previous message. 0 is the correct value for the copier without the fiery attached. You still will not be able to print unless you acquire the multi-pdl printer kit.

              Thank you for the many answers, it seems like i have to buy an other (used) controller for the copier, or call fiery support for eventually compatible drivers.
              Today i got at least the part catalogue und the maintenance manual from the canon tech.
              So i can build in the printer controller by myself and do some settings or get spare parts.

                  So you wanna tell me exchanging the controller is to hard for me?
                  I do think that i am able to read technical instructions, so why shouldnt I be able to build in another controller?
                  If i have to upgrade any Firmware it will also be possible to get it over canon support.

                    what controller are u talking about / ??
                    if u think u are going to build a new controller for that Fiery Z3000 from some technical instructions to accept new drivers - u live on Fantasy Island.

                      Exchanging the controller will bring you no closer to your goal. Either attempt to find drivers for other colorpass unit's that might work, or find a Color Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A2 somewhere, that can get you printing without the fiery...
