    iR2520 light copy

IR2520 2 mounths old, 8000 copies, started to print out light copies.
Changed toner, same, TNRINST in service mode, same.
Any ideas on what can be done before calling warranty?

    THX!

The best thing would be to place that service call.

Could be a transfering issue for now.

Try any of the following: 1- MOISTURE: remove the photosensitive drum and CLEAN ( wipe) the surface with with a CLEAN lint-free soft piece of cloth. Re-insert and try copies. 2- Make BASIC IMAGE ADJUSTMENT in SERVICE MODE: FUNCTION>DENS>PD>ME. Goodluck!

        hello

1- MOISTURE - done that, no changes. OBS: toner in residual tank looks lighter(graphite like) compared with the toner from magnetic drum.
2- I'm not sure I want to mess with those settings without a service manual at hand.

Disassambled and cleaned the transfer asambly - no change

I'll remove the developing unit today.
        Keep you posted!

I got to go with a service call to. Any work you do to the machine other than paper/toner change will void your warranty.
Yes, I am here to fix your machine. No, your machine went out of warranty 18 years ago.

I'm with android on telling you to be careful not to void warrenty. In fact...if you are still under warrenty ....what is your motivation for doing this yourself? Call and check on the status of the warrenty and for service my friend.

You'r right, but warranty means sending the unit 300 Km away ( no canon tech suport in my area) for at least 2 weeks (super best case scenenario). Gues I'm stil hopeful is nothing to serious.
But if a canon tech, blazebusiness, is saying warranty, then warranty shall be.

                  Re: iR2520 light copy

I am a service technician and now solves this problem with the machine ir2520 who has traveled 2,000 copies.

Replacement developer unit, photo-cylinder, change of DC and AC voltages to the magnet. rollers, primary charge rollers, cleaning toner subhooper, instal original toner, developer cleaning unit.
                  latest Firmware

Printouts are still about 50-75% black in the place where it should be 100% and the customer does not like it.
When printing on both sides is the quality of the black almost 50%
I understand and I try to do maximul but no result.
I will be grateful for any suggestion what to do next
                  :-( :-(
