I went to see the machine and its definitely is the laser, it does reduce when it goes into stand by.
brian8506, mentioned something about the timer quote “That timer can be changed in additional functions under timers/time until unit quiets down” Will that help me??
You’ve all mentioned the HDD, my guy formatted it simple because he thought it was corrupted, so he said, could he have formatted it wrongly, or something, up until then everything was fine and quite.
Thanks for the help and info.
    Regards
    P

If you change the time to 1 minute it will but as soon as someone touches any button on the machine, you'll hear the noise until the job is finished and nothing has been touched for a minute.

Unfortunately, then it comes down to this.....Noise from laser assy - time to replace the laser. I know thats not the best news but what can you do. Timing of that failure/noise sucks though...when something new comes up right after a repair the customer may think it's related to something the tech did and blame you for the laser.

Thats definitely the solution. Changing the timer is only a small fix for now. They're not that expensive from the major rebuilders.

In Canada, if you call yourself an Engineer without having an engineering degree you can be sued and charged....its like calling yourself a doctor and you're not. The classification is taken very seriously here....

The word engineer is derived from Latin= ingenium, meaning "cleverness"

                  aren't all techs Clever
