[Error Code] IR2800 Replace Waste Toner Container won't go away

I emptied the bottle the last call about a month ago. Remove pwr off, replace pwr on will not clear and clear err will not work either. There is a strange looking yellow thing up over the bottle, is that the sensor? Any ideas on how to clear this message? Thanks in advance

Did you 'Clean' the waste bottle when you emptied it? If you don't then it will still detect toner in it and not reset.

Clean the round indents on the neck of the waste toner bottle, inside and out. Also, toner gets on the sensor inside the copier. Reach in with a stretch-n-dust and feel around for the indents one the bottle would line up. You will feel the little light bulbs on the sensor.

I have seen that sensor get toner on it a lot. Clean it and I'll bet that the problem goes away.

"Insert the Waste Toner Container" message is displayed on the control panel. The waste toner bottle is detected by sensor PS11 and is located on the top of the waste toner auger.
There is a spring loaded sleeve with a flag around the waste toner auger. When the bottle is present it will push the sleeve thereby unblocking PS11.
When PS11 fails or is dirty, the message to insert the waste toner bottle will be displayed.

The machine uses an optical sensor (UN8) mounted behind the waste toner case to check the amount of waste toner. The sensor consists of a light-emitting segment (LED) and a light-receiving segment (PD). When the level of waste toner is low, the light from the LED is received by the photodiode. When the level increases, on the other hand, the presence of waste toner blocks the light from the LED, thus preventing reception of light by the photodiode, thus causing the output of the sensor to change from High to Low. The change
in the sensor output causes the DC controller to assume that the waste toner case is 95% full with waste toner.

Look for a little plastic tab, just under the throat of the wtb, that points outward toward the toner bottle door. If it's broken off, the wtb won't lock in place, and the door will not want to close properly because the wtb is not locked in, and trying to push the toner door open. If the plastic locking tab is missing, it will give you the "WTB full" message.

clean the sensor inside where toner bottle sits should be more on the top of the machine, use compressed air or a brush, you might have to remove the sensor, im sure its get quite dirty with all the toner is collects.

              Good luck
