    Imagepress C1 E110-0003

I am having E110-0003 Error, according to the service manual

Cause: The FG signal is not detected while the polygon scanner
    is rotating stably.
Remedy: Turn off the main power, and check the wiring of DC
    controller PCB.

I took the Laser out and reconnected all the wiring but still have the same error. Do I need to replace the laser unit.

Prior to the E110-0003 the drum was replace and gave a constant E061-0050 error. It will error out whenever it tries to do a auto gradation adjustment but it ran with the constant E061-0050 error for a while, having to shut down the machine after every 25 11"x17" double sided prints.

Is the scanner motor replaceable or does the whole scanner unit need to be replaced? and is the E110 error related to the E061 error?

Also, any idea on the approximate cost and where to buy the parts?

    Thanks,

    John

By scanner motor =I think it means the Polygonal Mirror is the LASER SCANNER MOTOR/
that is inside the Laser Unit

    E110 (Scanner Motor Error)
    - 0001: indicates that the FG signal is not detected when passing the specified time after the activation of the
    polygon scanner.
    - 0002/0003: indicates that the FG signal cannot be detected while the polygon scanner rotates stably.

U can replace the Scanner Motor _/ but that is not the issue here

this E110 is a little confusing / Manual says Scanner Motor/ no part number listed
Tech pub says E110 - Replace Laser UNIT

that E061-0050 involves a Laser issue/ on top of E110-003

Its gonna be an expensive part that's all I'm gonna say.

If its constant E110, your gonna probably have to replace it.

I don't really have a choice. It's a constant E110 that can't be cleared. Is there anyway to test the laser unit for the FG signal outside the machine?

With parts prices being what they are, I'll feel a lot better if I can isolate the problem to the laser unit before swapping it out. I don't want a repeat what what happened to the drum. The first tech replaced the drum to solve a streaking problem, but the problem is not with the drum and the machine never ran properly with the replacement drum, ie the E061 issue.

          Check this also-
When the DC controller detects that the front cover, upper right door, lower right door, or toner replacement
cover is opened, it forcibly turn OFF the drive of the laser scanner and the laser exposure.

The laser beam ON/OFF is performed at the laser driver PCB.
This circuit controls the laser beam ON/OFF according to the combination of the laser control signal sent from
          DC controller PCB.

          Laser Scanner Motor Control
The laser scanner motor control is used for rotating the scanner motor with the specified speed.
This control is executed at the motor speed control block in the DC controller PCB and the standard signal
          generation block.

The motor speed control block detects the speed detection signal (FG, BD), and controls the acceleration signal
(ACC) and deacceleration signal (DEC) to be the specified speed by comparing the standard signal generated
in the standard signal generation block.

1.I would first check on DC PCB-Connector J1120/ for Laser Scanner Motor

          Laser driver PCB>signals
          DC PCB-J1170, J1165
          DC PCB-J1171, J1122

          2.-Laser driver PCB
Drive control for laser scanner unit

          COPIER>FUNCTION>PART-CHK
          MTR

Specify a motor to be checked.
          (Range: 1 to 55)
          Operation method
          1) Select this item.
          2) Enter the code of a motor using numeric keys.
          1. M1: Polygon motor

Think there must be a LASER CHECKER PROCEDURE with a tool

don't see one listed in Manual-
          COPIER>FUNCTION>LASER
POWER >Turn on the laser output for laser power adjustment.
Pressing an item highlights it. Pressing the OK key starts the operation.
