Canon NP6050 two questions

Hi,

There's a local non prof with an old canon np6050.

1. Does anyone have a service, parts, etc. manual for this?

2. I can't find drums for them anywhere through my usual suppliers. Are they still available? How much do they run? or does anybody have any? Apparently a lot of the other parts, fusers, etc. are the same as some newer imagerunners...but not the drum i guess.

That's a tough one.

There are so few of these left in the field, that it's probably just not worth anybody making drums (or any other parts for that matter) for it.

They may just be better off in finding something a bit newer, and bagging the 6050. It would probably cost less than trying to breathe life into this thing.

The shame is that the 6050 was a rockin' box, but that was a really long time ago.

Thanks for the advice. I hate it when those solid machines fade away. I have seen some NP6551's which I'm guessing was a newer updated version and I don't think the drums are the same? But I guess anything analog is not worth keeping anymore. Makes you wonder how long digital will last and what will come after it.

Right now I wanted to see what the drums were running. They do 3 million pages I think? As much as I like to help non-profs out, this gets to be a bitch and tiring. I understand funds are tight and people try to save but holy schite, I have to bills to pay too...grrr.
