Check fuser for binding. Code is fuser drive problem.

Brian, thank you for your reply. Might you know where that might be (toner drum area?)? Might that be a fixing motor drive signal problem between that & clock?

I would pull the fuser and check to see if it turns smoothly. Otherwise the drive motor on the front side may be bad. Are you a tech? If not, you need one.

            1. Check the fixing unit for binds
-There may be a bind in the fixing unit that impedes the movement of the fixing motor.
            2. Check the fixing motor connector
-Is the connector of the fixing motor connected?
            -NO: Connect the connector.
            3. Check the Main power supply PCB (also known as the Switching Regulator)
-Is the drive voltage (24VDC) of the fixing motor supplied by the main power supply PCB present?
-The Main power supply PCB (also known as the Switching Regulator) can be checked by checking for 24VDC on J202-3 (24VU1-S) and J202-4 (OVU1).
-NO 24VDC: Replace the main power supply PCB.
            4. Check the Fixing motor (M4) and DC controller PCB
-Press the Start key. Is the lock signal of the fixing motor present at the connector (J312) on the DC controller PCB?
-Lock signal: J312-B4 (FSRM_LOCK*) Does the signal from the DC controller PCB change from 0 to about 5 V when the Start key is pressed?
            -YES: Replace the fixing motor.
-NO: Replace the DC controller PCB.

Thanks Teckat - you are the most knowledgeable forum member out there!

Am worried that when the power went out in the area that a power spike / brown out may have gotten past the power protection device & damaged the unit. When power was restored unit registered the E14-0000 error. Unit working before that power failure.

these usually dont e014. Check outlet power , clear the code and confirm the fuser is good .....

Thanks Simons . . . can you please confirm how to clear the code. Unit will not go past initial boot sequence and locks at the error code. Shutting downt the copier will not cause error code to go away. Will also check external power voltage & fuser.

If I'm not mistaken, E014 will clear by power off/on if problem is corrected. If it was a power failure you may have taken out the fixing feeder drive or worse yet the power supply. However if you want to try clear procedure it addl functions/2 and 8 at same time/addl functions/copier/function/clear/err/ok/power off and on

How would you get past the error message to enter the service function mode?

I understand that that type error code may be cleared if the error code is cleared in service mode.

                      Thanks.

check your machine circuit leakage breaker

Check the operation of the leakage breaker.
While the power switch is ON, press the test switch of the leakage breaker to make sure
that it operates normally (i.e., the lever goes OFF to cut the power).
If the leakage breaker fails to operate normally, replace it and make a check once again.
                        To reset,
After making a check, turn off the main power switch (the lever should go ON), and
then turn on the main power switch.

I've had the feeder drive go on the 3300 and cause that code.

Teckat, was able to get the copier to go through boot up when I reset the leakage breaker (pressing then starting w/ the breaker turned on). When a print command was sent the paper would jam after the fuser (on way out) - copy appeared ready for output.

Then when cleared the jam & tried to reprint, the error code E14-0000 would reappear.

Appreciate your thoughts. Might the fuser have to be removed & motor checked? Thanks.
