c5185 with H1 print server. not network printing

we just picked up a c5185 from a off lease dealer...
I have had 3220's and 3200's and know my way around the c1 c2 and z3000 fiery. (pretty much the same things)

this H1 I cant not get access to it. does anyone know the default IP for it?
I have (while trying to get some kind of network printing) bypassed the h1 and used a network cable to the router. changed the controller in the copier setup from 3 to 0 and the printer gets a IP.
I can get to the copier thru the remote ui and see everything. make it print out reports from the copier but still can not print from any computer.
the computers do see it as a printer with the IP address and I install the c5185 drivers. go to print and nothing not even a green processing light, and the comptuers come up with a error on printing.

I connect a USB cable and try it that way.. I get further and get a processing data light for 1 second and then nothing.

    what am I missing here?

since your machine has the H1 rip on it you can not print directly to the 5180. There are no other print options installed on it therefore your print jobs are just going to crash.

If your H1 is password protected try Fiery.1 (case sensative) if that does not work you may have to get the system software reloaded.

    Good luck.

Thank you!!! going to print it on the 3220 tomorrow at work.

How can i test to see if the h1 server actually has the software installed?
if it isnt installed would it explain why i cant see the h1 on the network (scanned ) and when going to the print tab on the 5180 to check the status/settings it just doesnt do anything

where can i get a h1 ISO from?

make sure the H1 Interface cable is in good working order/ make sure u are using the Crossover cable in correct spot

there is no ISO for image Pass H1- In fact Canon no longer produces ISO Firmware for the CLC's/imageRunners

when H1 is plugged in an printer is powered up / look at the small LED window on H1 / if u see FF,E3 u have an issue- read that H1 Guide

SST System Software file is for use with the Service Support Tool (SST), and the
USB System Software is for use with a USB Flash Drive. The direction is to eliminate the process of
imaging a CD-ROM from an ISO image
and also, to facilitate flashing with a USB Flash Drive.

HI software is pre-installed at factory- u should have received a two System Software CD's part 1 & 2 with the HI

if u do not have them, u will need to call a Canon Authorized dealer for a service call on H1

on the side of the H1 there are two LED's if the machine and the fiery are communicating properly those LED's should go through a series of codes and eventually end up at '00' If you are getting an 'FF' your firmware needs to be reloaded. If they do not come on you either have a connection issue with the machine or the H1 is having an electrical issue.

Make sure that u do not have a duplicate IP address within the same network

For imagePASS C2/D1/E1/G1/H1/J1 use Color Network Scan-gear Version 2.0 or higher.

Do U See the Printer Tab on control panel ????

                        go back in COPIER>OPTION>INT-FACE>IMG-CONT -
set it back to 0 hit ok-turn off printer with shut down method on panel -flip power switch off/
turn printer back on -go back to COPIER>OPTION>INT-FACE>IMG-CONT- set it to 3-
                        repeat the shutdown method-
turn back on- go to Printer tab/ re-input your Network settings- remember password is Fiery.1 if prompted

Is it an irc5185 or clc5185??
