Canon IRC 5185i what is your opion of this machine?

I currently have a Canon CLC5100 with a about 2 mil on the meter, starting to have a lot more problems. I am thinking of replacing it with a used 5185i with 386k on the meter, is this a good machine? any bad problems, worse with higher meter, how many clicks can you expect to get? What about the W2 finisher?

    Thank you for any input.

not sure about the finisher if thats the small one tray one or not. In any case I wouldnt worry about the finisher. 2 million is alot of clicks on a large color machine full of parts. The 5185 series is an awsome machine and STILL outputs better quality than the newer Advance 5000 series. The advance 5000 quality is alright but side by side there is a differance. Im sure there are personal preferances too and what you need the machine to do are things to consider. However in these times. I would roll with the 5185 if i didnt need the extra computer and storage features of the advance series.

it is a good machine, don't like the fuser so much, but it is what it is. We have several with over 2 million on them and they are still running 100K a month on them. The W2 finisher does what you ask it to do as long as the adjustments are made for the stacking issues. Also make sure you get the H1 imagepass. You will be happier with the output moving from you CLC with the imagepass on it. The internal print board will not be up to your expectations.

All I would add to this discussion is that while the 5185 is a good machine, keep in mind it is not a CLC.

Very good mashine. My mashine have cca 900.000 copy's and with regular servicing I have no problem. Color print have a good depth, and if has a wax coating that would be better than the Xerox DC 250

My only problem is finisher but in saturday I start to disassembly w2 on small parts.

good machine, but as mrfixit51 said, it is not a CLC. see if you can demo the machine for a day or so to check out your image reproduction. if you cant, gather up samples of what you do and test it at the dealership. if you like what you see, make sure you get the same kind of setup you tested
Yes, I am here to fix your machine. No, your machine went out of warranty 18 years ago.
