Canon c5185 coloring (bleeding) my pages, please help

Hi, i have a Canon c5185 that started bleeding on my pages, first it was magenta and then it will stop for a few pages an start again.
Attached is an image of what a print job looks like. first it was cyan, than after adjusting gradation in the it printed nicely for a few pages, then adjust gradations after only a few pages, then the cyan stopped bleeding and only the magenta did.

I am guessing the drums may be shot, or is it possible that it simply needs calibration.
The calibration is missing from the page where "clean inside main unit" menu is, how do i enable it?

Hi, i havent checked the cleaning blade, but there is toner between the toner cartridge and the drum units, and the cyan toner is new.
all the drums are above 80 percent usage, but i dont want to replace them if they are not bad.

not a cert tech, but been using and doing some service on my copiers for quite a some time.

why could there be toner between the toner cartridge and drum units?

      Thanks for the quick reply.

        Replace the drums.

Besides, if the drums don't resolve the issue, you have 1/2 of your next set. Besides that I really think it's the drum.

what do u mean between ??
this is not a toner issue.

if u remove the drums in question u will see toner/starter on the surface of drum-

          bottom line=replace those

Really looks like drums, if this occurs at 80% u have running allot of heavy stock and full page coverage.

this is a drum issue. At minimum replace the cyan and magenta...more than likely your yellow and black drums are not far behind though.

                  Just wanted to add on>>

**another tip on these cartridge DRUMS- when u remove them from box> shake them up well/ they may have been shipped or stored standing up/ then after install run a FUNCTION>CLEANING>DEV_CLN

Make sure the ITB is locked up all the way, if not=

During a normal copy run =only part of the image will be transferred from the drum to the belt, there will be an excessive build up of toner in the front part of the drum. This build will caused streaking or back grounding that becomes worse the more copies that are run. Also, the more image that is put on this side of the drum, the streaking or back grounding is more visible.
Check that the Front black[in color] lever lock spring hole is not elongated.
will cause the ITB assy to not engage fully on the operator side of the machine.

                  also Make sure the
COVER, DRUM DOOR / Which has BIAS Tabs for each Color Drum are not damaged/
