    ir105 m2 printer controller.

    Hello,

    I've got printer controller M2 attached to my Canon ir105. This computer has only 32 Mb RAM. Is it possible to upgrade the RAM without software changes? If not, can you give ideas how to solve the problem ?

    iR105 =Minimum is 128mb to function

    What computer ? your PC RAM ??

    What problem are u talking about ??????

    u mean RAM IN M2 ?

    The imagePASS-M2 is configured with one 128MB DIMM for a total of 128MB of memory. This configuration is standard and is not upgradable.

    Note:
    If a larger size Memory DIMM is installed in the imagePASS-M2, the Motherboard will not recognize the extended memory.

      I'm talking about the RAM of M2 ... If Fiery command workstation shows right, the M2 has 32 Mb Ram ... The reason I wanted upgrade was because it can't reprint 120 pages PDF file 11 times and before printing the first copy, the machine stopped printing and started waiting long long until I delete the job from the iR105. Unknown problem for me. After the machine stop printing, I saw the Fiery command workstation that the memory is full and the file is waiting to print.

        Don't know where u see that on M2 - M2 has one 128mb of ram , that is standard on it .

        there is no upgrade on memory for M2- open M2 to inspect memory

          Here you are a screenshot fiery.jpg...

          if my conclusions are right, may I try to change the RAM without making damage on the computer ?

            Sounds like you need to back up the jobs you want to keep and do a clear on the M2 server. Teckat is correct that the unit comes with 1 stick of 128MB RAM and no you cannot upgrade this.

            Have you had this pausing on more than one job or just this particular one you are talking about here? It could be a machine issue as well.

              the jobs are not the problem in this picture ... it's not a problem to clear every time the jobs ...

              The problem is in the right part of the picture where is given hard drive space and the memory ... the memory is 32 Mb. And here begun my question ... What is right, you or the Fiery command workstation ... if the Fiery, where to find the problem and solve it with the rest of the memory.

                Command Work Station does not show the physical memory size. It only shows the frame buffer size.

                The memory allocation is as follows:
                64 MB: Linux system.
                32 MB: Compress.
                32 MB: Frame buffer.
                ==> Total of 128 MB.

                M2=
                CPU: Intel Pentium III – 866 MHz
                RAM: 128MB
                HDD: 20GB HDD

                When a job from the user is received, the data may be sent to the engine
                without using the HDD of the controller.
                To completely erase the data on the HDD (deleted by the user) or the system,
                the engine writes to it 3 times, thereby ensuring that the data has been fully
                removed from the HDD. (Only the Direct Queue may be used.

                  to add on if the M2 has v2.0 or higher u need at least v71.01 in 105

                    I understand now the system ... thanks for the explaination. So the conclusion is when the machine block and stop printing a big file, I have to clear all jobs already unuseful.

                      would a m3 or a different controller solve this issue?

                        The M3 is for the 105+, 9070 series machines so that wouldn't talk to the 105. Another option is to store the print jobs in the mailboxes of the machine so you can reprint as many as you need when ever you need them. I have may pay for prints that use there machines in this manner.
