[Misc] Canon IR-2270G Won't Print with Access Codes Enabled

Hi, one my customers uses a Mac laptop, has a canon ir-2270g in an office where access codes must be used and they can't print to the machine. They're using the UrfII driver and it doesn't give them anywhere to input the access code. The PS driver gives 'em the option, but still shows an error message "wrong code or password" even when they input the code.

Can anyone help me update the firmware on this machine. I need the firmware and any software update tools necessary to perform the update.

    Thanks!

U mean UFRII- What access codes are u talking about ?? Dept ID/Password ?

I assume this is this a Government Office ??

Is the UFRII Printer Kit-E3 installed ??? - Re-Install UFR DRIVER

The machine is capable of printing UFRII, PCL and PS with the print kit installed.

      Hi Tekcat,

Thanks for the response. ID codes are the problem. I didn't see any pcl drivers for mac OS 10 so I used the UFRII drivers. I'll have to go back to canon's site and see if I can find PCL dirvers.

The machine comes with network printing but i'm not sure about UFRII Print Kit. Printing without the id codes worked ok. I reinstalled drivers, no help.

        No PCL for Mac 10

Who set up the Network Restrictions ? & Access Codes ?

        In System Control Settings
group ID control/ is some type of Limited Functions on

group ID control group ID control: ON/*OFF
register ID No.: register, edit, delete, limit function
count control: reset, count print, all clear
        print without known ID: *ON/OFF
        scan without known ID: *ON/OFF

Admin set access / id controls.

Group ID Control was *on/off. If set to off doesn't it turn the id access control off?

other 2 settings were *on/off. No restrictions or limits were set for any of the accounts.

Not sure, I'll have to get back out there this week and check and check the id numbers again. I think it was just an ID #, no password.

                Hey Teckat,

Canon posted new UFRII Drivers just last month, resolved the issue. I did enable apple talk on the machine though... may have helped too.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
