Canon IR 6000 Tray #3 Jammed

Was making booklets feeding from tray #3 (universal, changeable paper sizes)
with guides set at LTR R position. The tray ran out of paper so I pushed the button to drop the tray and open. Tray would not slide back. It was hanging up on something. After removing the tray I see a flat, brass colored plate at the bottom center on the left side is in the raised position instead of all the way to the bottom so I cannot slide the tray back in. How can I get that plate to drop to the lower position so that the tray can slide back in?
I tried turning off and unpluging the machine then with all the doors & trays open turned it back on hoping the thing would re-set to the correct home position.
NO joy. Any other suggestions? I need to complete an 800 booklet run.
    Thanks,
    Dana Lewis

push and hold the white actuator that releases the cassette when it is in the machine. This should allow it to drop back down.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

Ditto on pushing the white actuator.

Here's what I have to do for now,
Completely remove draw #1 so I have access to #3.

Then while pushing the release button on draw 3,
I reach in and push down so that the paper casette drops all the way to the bottom. Aparently the drop down plate is hanging up on something and needs a little push What a P.I.T.A!

          I think I fixed it.

I sprayed some WD/40 where the drop down plate pivots and on the mechanism behind the white cassette release button. Lifted the drop down plate up & down a few times while holding the button in to work it in. Seems ok for now
