The paper surface sensor remains unchanged 10 sec after the tray ascent/
    descent motor is driven.

In other words, you need a technician to come out and fix it.

      Hi,
If yu still hav this prob. Then yu still can use the copier by unplugging the finisher at back if it is the external type.If it is an internal finisher then yu need a Canon tech to come out.

      Regards

0001 - The paper surface sensor remains unchanged 10 sec after the tray ascent/descent motor is driven.

0002 - The tray upper sensor goes ON while the tray is moving up.

0003 - The clock for the clock sensor is disrupted for 10 sec or more while the trayascent/descent motor is driven.

Main cause The paper surface sensor (PI9) is faulty. The tray ascent/descent motor clock sensor (PI17) is faulty. The tray upper limit sensor (PI15) is faulty. The tray ascent/descent motor (M6) is faulty. The finisher controller PCB is faulty.
