    Clc 1180 - E072

Was working fine after drum, blade, trnsfr film @ polish roller change. A few weeks later the called fir smudging. Turns out started pulling dv mostly rear. Front too. Cleaned, vacuumed. Started jamming on top if trans drum then code. Swapped out also high milege polish & clng. Units with motors. Watched clng motor move up & on then right into code. Also seems like poor connect from transfer unit when pulling in & out. It will go into power up & then it won't. Connectors on trans unit. I remember they used to go on large tosh & sharps which is same on 50 ppm & faster. ? What's up with this canon, is it that ?

There are so many issues with E072, it would fill a phone book.
    what is the sub-code ?

Check both sides of all the door switches for voltage. A switch that is failing will drop the supplied voltage 3 to 5 vdc. Replace the switch. Check both SW4 (Left front cover switch) and SW5 (Delivery Cover switch).

look at this pdf/u need to check T DRUM - connectors on T DRUM and frame side-
they get cracks & cause arching.

FU903 on the DC FUSE PCB

I used to short out the start signal for polishing cleaner motor M8, because the start timing sometimes locks up the TDRM
think it was from the two pin 24v line to the orange two pin connector

also check that copper tab plate to TDRUM Gear/ it bends out of position

Bk density started crapping out on 1120. So we changed bk dv but messed up cause we didn't know about auto dump & load. plus tech thinks he damaged the mag roller when he vacuumed unit. he also lost half of the dv material at pouring. we got all new dv material for all units & swapped bk unit from a parts 1120 which also was coding out with 72-02 that we"re using for parts. Now after changing out the bk dv unit & all developers the right way with srvc manual. Mixing then inicializing, it starts dumping dv. it looks old & faded just like the 1180. it jams in exectly in the same place. 1oclock on tranfer drum pass its metal reg, roller. we've blown out & vacuumed all connectors all on & around the drum, transfer. a lot of Dv collects under drum's recovery unit with clng squeegieon front & rear
      please help

There are over 200 Tech pubs on issues with this CLC1100 series/ they are not even available from Canon

Bottom Line is>You have to find a Canon Trained tech on this Old Canon model

The tech you used should be working on cars and not Canon Color machines.
As I posted before that E072 code is difficult to diagnose with out seeing the problem at hand.
+ that so called tech has caused more issues.
Transfer Sheet is probably a mess/ Paper detect Sensors inside are probably the old type/ the red HVT Cables inside Transfer Drum are probably arching/ Both Transfer frame connectors probably have cracks

There is no reason on this Earth to waste time with this CLC 1100 Series>
Get yourself a used imageRunner 3220 - ahd get rid of that piece of junk
