How to scan and save a PDF on Imagerunner 2830.

We would like to use the scan to mailbox feature on our imagerunner. I can get it to scan as images but not scan and convert to pdf. I have read that I need to call Canon and pay big moneyware. Any suggestions?? I am purchasing a fujitsu snapscan scanner which will serve the same needs but would like to add this feature to the imagerunner if possible. Thanks, Mark

the 2830 series was not designed to do a lot of network scanning and the mailbox feature does not work the way you are wanting it to. It is for document storage at the copier level only. The only thing you could do is load network scangear on a PC near the machine and do a pull scan from the copier to your computer. This will give you the ability to scan in pdf, jpeg and tiff file format as it is a twain driver.

you can not do it directly. you can convert tiff to pdf. but it is not a bad one. if you are using ms office2003 in that ms office document scanning is used to scan all pages to one tiff file. this file can convert to pdf using acrobat professional or nitro pdf professional like this software. in office2000, xp, 2007,2010 i didn't see that document scanning. you can use document imaging too.

I do it form MS Word . . Insert - Picture - Scanner (ScanGear) to word doc.
        Then from Doc to PDF.

Get an IR advance. U can scan to pdf on it's harddisk (advanced space) and mount the advance space as a shared folder to your computer.

If your machine has a sendkit u can send to a network folder instead.

If you have the full version of adobe acrobat you can create a pdf using the twain application through network scangear.
