    Canon iR 2200 Defaults?

The copy I work for just inherited an almost brand new Canon ImageRUNNER 2200 from the company that previously occupied the building we are now in and I was tasked with setting it up as a network printer, an easy enough task, but I ran into a problem as soon as I turned the machine on. Once it boots it asks for an ID and Password. I cannot do anything with the unit without first inputting this information. Which, of course, I do not have, and the previous owners cannot remember, or find.

So my question is this, how do I reset the machine to factory default settings without inputting an ID and password? I have checked the owners manual and looked online but unless I missed something I cannot find the information I am looking for. Any assisstance would be helpful.

    Thanks in advance.

go into service mode(*28*) "Function" - "Clear" There should be an option under the clear menu for "pwd-clr" highlight it & press ok. On reboot the ID screen should have gone. If not under the clear menu again I believe its called MN-CON That will clear the main controller, Try pwd-clr 1st

To get into service mode do I need to push the "Additional Functions" key? Because if I do we have a problem. There are a few keys that are either not working, or are locked out due to needing the ID and password, I'm not sure which. One of those keys is the "Additional Functions" key. I can use all of the nember keys and most of the other keys though.

Yes, you need the additional functions key. *AD>2&8 simultaneously and *AD again. System management should not lock any of the keys. It just locks out functionality.

Thank you both for your help. I am happy to say that the copier is now up and running. Now I just need to get the network cable run to it so I can set it up as a network printer.
